About Our Secure Data Destruction Service

One-stop HDD destruction and confidential paper pulping. ISO 21964 certified, full documentation for GDPR & Personal Data Protection Act audits.

Complete Drive Destruction Coverage(HDD / SSD / Optical / Tape)

Our drive-destruction program pairs degaussing with physical destruction for a two-layer guarantee. It covers mechanical hard drives, solid-state drives, server and full data-center decommissioning, optical discs, and backup tapes — each routed through the appropriate ISO 21964 H/E/O/T track, and each documented with a NIST 800-88 / ISO 21964 certificate, serial manifest, and video record.

The HDD Standard: Degauss First, Then Destroy

Degaussing makes the data unrecoverable; physical destruction makes it visibly, undeniably destroyed for auditors and boards

1

Step 1 — Degaussing

A magnetic field of 15,000 Oe or stronger erases the platter's magnetic recording, rendering data unrecoverable by design.

  • Meets the NIST 800-88 Purge level
  • Applies to mechanical HDDs, LTO tapes and floppy media
  • Note: SSDs hold no magnetic charge and cannot be degaussed
2

Step 2 — Physical Destruction

Drilling, bending, or industrial shredding leaves visible, verifiable damage on every platter.

  • Meets ISO 21964 H-2 / H-3, upgradeable to H-5 shredding
  • Gives auditors and boards visual proof of destruction
  • Applies across HDD, SSD, optical and tape media

Upgrade option: for classified, regulated or R&D material, industrial shredding achieves ISO 21964 H-5 (fragments ≤ 320 mm²) at the NIST Destroy level.

Da Fon vs. Typical Market Practice

Everyone says "destroyed" — the difference is whether it survives an audit

AspectTypical PracticeDa Fon
StandardsNo stated standard; verbal claims of "complete destruction"Explicit mapping to NIST 800-88 and all five ISO 21964 series (H/E/O/T/P)
DocumentationGeneric recycling receipts — no serials, no levelsFive-document set: certificate, manifest, level designation, video, downstream-disposal proof
Video EvidenceRarely recorded; photos at bestFull video recording as standard, regardless of volume, at no extra charge
Service ModelsDrop-off only; no on-site optionThree models: drop-off, secure pickup, or on-site shredding truck (media never leaves your premises)
Paper DestructionShredding only (P-1–P-3), reconstructablePulping to P-7 — physically unrecoverable
